SWP-E8000-LIC-VSYS-50

SWP-E8000-LIC-VSYS-50 is a Huawei USG / Eudemon firewall licence. It is software rather than hardware, so nothing ships: a key or entitlement is applied to equipment you already have. The catalogue describes it as Huawei SWP-E8000-LIC-VSYS-50 Software/License: Quantity of Virtual Firewall (50 Vsys).

This part number needs a vendor check before we would quote it. It was not covered by the lifecycle review we ran across this catalogue, so we do not currently have a verified position on whether it is still available or what supports it. Rather than imply a confidence we do not have, we would rather check it.

What we will do. Confirm it against the vendor’s catalogue and lifecycle database and come back with the platform it covers, its current status and any replacement. Tell us what the equipment is doing and we can usually propose the right answer from the requirement rather than from the code.

What these licences cover. Huawei’s USG and Eudemon firewalls license their capabilities separately from the hardware: virtual firewall instances, VPN tunnel and user counts, and the subscription-based detection services. A virtual system licence in particular is worth understanding before ordering, because it governs how many logically separate firewalls one appliance presents, which is how a single box serves several tenants or security zones.

Green Code Technologies supplies Cisco and Huawei equipment and licences alongside HPE, Dell, Samsung and Netgear. We would rather tell you a part is no longer supported, or that we need to check it, than take an order for something that will not do what you need. Send us the platform, the software release and what you are trying to achieve and we will come back with a straight answer.
