SLFI000DOC03 is a Huawei product documentation set for the RTN 950A. It is worth being plain about what this is: a documentation package, ordered as a line item in its own right, not hardware and not software.

Whether you need to buy it is a fair question. Huawei sells documentation as an orderable item because large operators procure it formally, often because a contract or an internal process requires a controlled copy tied to a specific release. If that is your situation, this is the right thing to order. If it is not, the documentation for equipment you own is generally available through a Huawei support account, and most buyers get what they need that way without a separate purchase.

Worth knowing: Huawei publishes the same specification for another part number in this family. SLFI000DOC01 carries an identical published specification to this one, and we would rather tell you that than imply a difference that the documentation does not support.

In practice the distinction between part numbers like these is usually one of three things: a hardware revision, where the later code supersedes the earlier one and is the sensible choice for a new purchase but not necessarily for matching an installed shelf; a regional or market variant; or a packaging difference, such as whether installation materials are included. None of those is visible from the specification, and all three matter when the part is going into equipment that already exists. For a spare, matching the installed hardware exactly is what counts, and the part number on the card in the slot is the authoritative answer rather than the original order. The RTN 950A is a Huawei microwave platform, and its lifecycle status is genuinely unclear. So this page will not tell you the platform is current and will not tell you it is finished, because neither can be checked from outside. If that distinction matters to your purchase, and on microwave it often does because licensed-band links tend to live for a decade, ask us to confirm it with Huawei before you commit.

That is usually faster and it is usually free.
