SL91EG4P is a Gigabit Ethernet board for a Huawei microwave indoor unit on the RTN 950. It plugs into the indoor shelf rather than mounting at the antenna, so this is equipment-room hardware and the install is straightforward compared with anything on the tower.

This board presents Gigabit Ethernet into the microwave shelf and includes switching, so local traffic can be aggregated on the board rather than needing a separate switch beside the rack. On a small site that removes a box, a power supply and something to maintain. Some ports provide Power over Ethernet, which is how a device on a mast or pole is powered from the shelf without a separate power run, and it is a real saving on a retrofit.

The RTN 950 is a Huawei microwave platform, and its lifecycle status is genuinely unclear. Huawei’s RTN line as a whole is still an active product family, but the position of this particular model could not be established: Huawei’s lifecycle database sits behind a login and model-level end-of-sale and end-of-support dates are not published openly.

So this page will not tell you the platform is current and will not tell you it is finished, because neither can be checked from outside. If that distinction matters to your purchase, and on microwave it often does because licensed-band links tend to live for a decade, ask us to confirm it with Huawei before you commit.

What to confirm before ordering. Which shelf and software release this is going into, how many radios it has to serve, and whether the capacity you want is also licensed, because Huawei caps microwave throughput by licence as well as by configuration. A shelf physically capable of a rate it is not licensed for looks like a fault and is not one.
