PI-DCA11

PI-DCA11 is a power injector supplied with Huawei transmission equipment for the RTN 310.

A power injector puts DC onto the data cable so a device at the far end, typically a radio on a mast or a pole, can be powered over the same cable that carries its traffic. That removes a separate power run, which on a tower or a street pole is the expensive part of the installation rather than an incidental one. The things to confirm are the voltage and the polarity the far-end device expects, and the cable length, because the voltage drop over a long run is what decides whether the device at the end actually sees enough.

The RTN 310 is a Huawei microwave platform, and its lifecycle status is genuinely unclear. Huawei’s RTN line as a whole is still an active product family, but the position of this particular model could not be established: Huawei’s lifecycle database sits behind a login and model-level end-of-sale and end-of-support dates are not published openly.

So this page will not tell you the platform is current and will not tell you it is finished, because neither can be checked from outside. If that distinction matters to your purchase, and on microwave it often does because licensed-band links tend to live for a decade, ask us to confirm it with Huawei before you commit.

What to confirm. The platform, the power available at the site, and what the node actually has to terminate. Transmission nodes tend to be installed in awkward places, which makes getting the order complete the first time worth considerably more than it would be in a data centre.
