The Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine (UDM) is an all-in-one network appliance designed for unified routing, switching, wireless access, and security management. It integrates a security gateway, managed switch, and WiFi access point into a single desktop unit, making it suitable for homes, SMBs, and branch offices.
The UDM features a high-performance security gateway with advanced Layer 3 routing and firewall capabilities. It supports deep packet inspection (DPI), intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), and VLAN segmentation. As a result, it ensures secure and optimized traffic management across the network.
This device includes an integrated 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for wired connectivity. In addition, it provides a built-in dual-band WiFi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2) access point with 4×4 MU-MIMO on the 5GHz band. Therefore, it delivers high-speed wireless performance for multiple concurrent users.
For wireless performance, the UDM supports combined speeds up to AC2000 class. It uses beamforming and MU-MIMO technologies. As a result, it improves coverage, throughput, and efficiency in dense environments.
The system runs UniFi OS with an integrated UniFi Network Controller. It enables centralized configuration, monitoring, and analytics through a single interface. In addition, it supports remote management via cloud access.
For WAN connectivity, the device includes a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port. It also features a quad-core processor to handle routing, security, and application workloads efficiently.
The UDM is designed as a compact desktop unit. It fits environments that require enterprise-grade features in a simplified form factor.
