The Cisco PA-T3+ is an enhanced high-speed serial port adapter. It is designed for Cisco 7000, 7200, and 7500 series routers, as well as compatible platforms.
This module provides 1 × T3 (DS3) interface with speeds up to 45 Mbps. It supports full-duplex synchronous communication for reliable WAN connectivity.
The PA-T3+ includes an integrated Data Service Unit (DSU). This allows direct connection to T3/DS3 circuits without requiring external hardware.
It supports a wide range of WAN protocols, including:
- PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol)
- HDLC
- Frame Relay
- SMDS
- ATM-DXI
The adapter also supports 16-bit and 32-bit CRC for improved error detection and data integrity.
Connectivity is provided through 75-ohm coaxial (BNC) cables. The module acts as a DTE device, ensuring compatibility with telecom infrastructure.
Compared to the older PA-T3, the PA-T3+ offers enhanced performance, better DSU interoperability, and additional protocol support.
