Overview:

HPE is revolutionizing Big Data infrastructure with the innovative HPE Apollo 4500 Systems, debunking the idea of a one-size-fits-all approach. These purpose-built systems are designed to cater specifically to storage and analytics workloads. Take, for instance, the Apollo 4510, which boasts an ultra-dense configuration featuring 1 server and up to 68 Large Form Factor (LFF) drives within a compact 4U chassis, enabling a staggering maximum storage capacity of 680 TB per system for object storage. On the other hand, the Apollo 4530 sets itself apart by offering a unique setup of 3 servers per chassis, making it an ideal choice for housing three copies of data within a single system, perfectly suited for Hadoop® and other Big Data solutions.

Introduction :

*Introducing purpose-built systems designed to handle Big Data and HPC storage workloads with exceptional performance

The HPE Apollo 4500 systems present a range of options to meet diverse storage needs. There are three distinct models available: the Apollo 4510 for object storage, the Apollo 4520 for clustered storage, and the Apollo 4530 for Hadoop and Big Data applications.

When it comes to object storage deployments, the Apollo 4510 stands out with its impressive capacity. It supports up to 60 top-loaded hot-plug 3.5-inch drives and 8 rear-loaded drives, allowing for a system capacity of up to 544 TB. For those seeking object storage in a 2U server with 28 Large Form Factor (LFF) drives, the Apollo 4200 Gen9 Server is an excellent alternative.

In clustered storage environments, the Apollo 4520 excels. It offers internal cabling for failover and boasts a massive disk density of 23 LFF drives per server. This makes it a perfect choice for workloads such as Lustre parallel file system and Microsoft Storage Spaces.

When it comes to Hadoop analytics, the Apollo 4530 takes the spotlight. With three servers and 45 hot-plug top-loaded LFF drives per chassis, it delivers the power and capacity needed for demanding Hadoop and Big Data applications. For enterprise customers in search of Hadoop in a 2U server with 28 LFF/50 Small Form Factor (SFF) drives, the Apollo 4200 Gen9 Server is a viable alternative.

With the HPE Apollo 4500 systems, you can harness the potential of Big Data and HPC storage workloads efficiently and effectively.

*Tailored specifically for scale-out workloads, the Performance and Density Designed of the HPE Apollo 4500 System portfolio takes efficiency to the next level.

With the HPE Apollo 4530, you can maximize your space savings by fitting up to 30 servers in a 42U rack, boasting an impressive 50% more density compared to a rack filled with 2U servers.

To meet the demands of high-performance applications, each server can harness the power of up to 2 Intel® Xeon® E5-2600v4 series processors. With core counts ranging from 6 to 20 cores and power reaching up to 135W, these processors deliver exceptional compute performance.

For lightning-fast in-memory analytics, take advantage of the up to 1024 GB DDR4 memory per server, ensuring seamless processing of data-intensive tasks.

Furthermore, the HPE Apollo 4500 System offers the flexibility to upgrade your I/O as your application throughput demands evolve. Equipped with up to four PCIe 3.0 slots and HPE FlexibleLOM, you have the freedom to customize your input/output options.

*Wide Array of Disk Choices

When it comes to object storage solutions, the HPE Apollo 4510 offers an extensive range of disk options. With a 4U chassis, you can enjoy up to 544 TB of server storage, translating to a remarkable 5.4 PB per 42U rack.

For enhanced flexibility, you have the freedom to choose between 2, 4, 6, or 8 TB LFF drives. This allows you to tailor your storage capacity according to your specific needs.

With HPE Smart Array technology, you can strike the perfect balance between cost and performance. Take advantage of SAS, SATA, or SSD disk drives, enabling you to optimize your storage solution based on your requirements.

Additionally, each compute node is equipped with two 2.5-inch Small Form Factor (SFF) hard drives and two M.2 drives. This configuration enables the use of separate boot/OS drives on a dedicated controller, providing added convenience and flexibility.
