The Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch 5XP (SKU: ES-5XP) is a compact, fully managed Layer 2 switch designed for WISP, outdoor, and edge network deployments. It provides reliable Gigabit connectivity with 24V passive PoE, making it ideal for powering Ubiquiti airMAX and similar devices.
This switch features 5× Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports. All ports support configurable 24V passive PoE output. As a result, it can power compatible wireless radios, access points, and other PoE-enabled devices directly.
In addition, the ES-5XP includes a dedicated 10/100 management port. Therefore, it allows secure and isolated management access without affecting data traffic.
The device delivers a total PoE budget of approximately 50W, with up to 11.5W per port. As a result, it is suitable for small deployments requiring multiple powered devices.
The switch runs EdgeSwitch XP firmware. It supports advanced Layer 2 features such as VLANs, QoS, spanning tree protocols (STP/RSTP), port monitoring, and network management tools. Therefore, it enables efficient traffic control and segmentation.
For management, the ES-5XP provides a web-based interface. It allows easy configuration, monitoring, and PoE control per port.
The device features a compact, industrial-grade design with wall-mount capability. It operates in a wide temperature range, making it suitable for outdoor enclosures and harsh environments.
