The Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X SFP (SKU: ER-X-SFP) is a compact and cost-effective Gigabit router designed for SMB, home, and WISP deployments. It combines advanced routing features with flexible connectivity, including fiber uplink support.
This router features 5× Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports and 1× Gigabit SFP port. As a result, it supports both copper and fiber connectivity for WAN and LAN configurations. It also includes an integrated switch chip with hardware offloading. Therefore, it improves performance for local traffic and routing tasks.
The ER-X-SFP supports 24V passive PoE input on one port and configurable PoE passthrough on another port. As a result, it can be powered by a PoE source and supply power to compatible Ubiquiti devices such as airMAX radios.
The device runs EdgeOS, which supports advanced Layer 3 routing protocols such as static routing, OSPF, and BGP. In addition, it includes features such as VLANs, QoS, firewall policies, NAT, and VPN services. Therefore, it provides secure and flexible network management.
