The Ubiquiti EdgePoint EP-R8 (SKU: EP-R8) is an outdoor routing switch designed for WISP, surveillance, and industrial networking environments. It combines advanced Layer 3 routing with passive PoE distribution in a rugged, weather-resistant enclosure.
This device features 8× Gigabit Ethernet ports. It supports configurable passive 24V PoE output on multiple ports. As a result, it powers airMAX radios, IP cameras, and other outdoor devices directly without additional injectors.
The EP-R8 runs EdgeOS. It supports advanced routing protocols such as static routing, OSPF, and BGP. Therefore, it enables flexible network design for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and edge deployments.
The unit includes integrated surge protection and is designed for outdoor installation. It supports DIN rail and wall mounting options. As a result, it ensures reliable operation in harsh environments such as towers and industrial sites.
